World No Tobacco Day 2012: Tobacco industry interference

The World Health Organization (WHO) selects "tobacco industry interference" as the theme of 2012 World No Tobacco Day, which will take place on 31 May 2012.The campaign will focus on the need to expose and counter the tobacco industry's brazen and increasingly aggressive attempts to undermine the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) because of the serious danger they pose to public health.


Support the Implementation of Plain Packaging in Hong Kong 

31 May is the World No Tobacco Day, Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health (COSH) would like to take this chance to advocate the implementation of plain packaging of tobacco products in Hong Kong. This is to raise the public awareness on tobacco harm, as well as to reduce the attractiveness of cigarette packs to youngsters and smokers.

"World No Tobacco Day - Street Promotion Campaign"

Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health (COSH) held a street promotion campaign in Causeway Bay to spread smoke-free messages and encourage more smokers to quit smoking on 31 May (World No Tobacco Day).

First WHO Collaborating Centre for Smoking Cessation officially launched in Hong Kong


The Launch Ceremony for the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Smoking Cessation and Treatment of Tobacco Dependence (Centre) in Hong Kong was held on 9 April.
