The 9th Cross-strait Conference on Tobacco Control
To enhance effective tobacco control in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, Chinese Association on Tobacco Control, COSH, John Tung Foundation, and Macau Tobacco Control Alliance conduct the regular conference to share the experience on tobacco control. The 9th Cross-strait Conference on Tobacco Control was held in Taipei and attended by over 420 delegates as well as tobacco control experts from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.

Delegates from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau kicked start the Conference at the opening ceremony.
Mr Antonio KWONG, COSH Chairman, introduced Hong Kong’s most recent tobacco control measures and the outlook for future works.
Contribution Awards for Chinese on Tobacco Control
Dr Daniel HO (Associate Professor, School of Public Health, The University of Hong Kong) (second from the right) was awarded the Contribution Awards for Chinese on Tobacco Control for his great efforts and achievements in promoting tobacco control in Hong Kong.
Presentations from Hong Kong Representatives
|Prof Judith MACKAY, Senior Policy Advisor to World Health Organization, revealed the tobacco industry interference in undermining the tobacco control measures.||Prof LAM Tai-hing, Chair Professor of Community Medicine & Sir Robert Kotewall Professor in Public Health, School of Public Health, The University of Hong Kong, shared the effect of novel forms of tobacco products and introduced the smoking cessation services and evaluation tools.
|Ms Vienna LAI, COSH Executive Director, presented the achievements and challenges of building a smoke-free Hong Kong by using the MPOWER approach.||Mr Lawrence CHU, COSH Senior Project Manager, shared the situation and perception of waterpipe use among Hong Kong young adults.|
